Our Dress Code

At Foundations Dance we want all of our dancers to feel comfortable and confident when they come to class.

Below you will find details on the dress codes for each of the styles of dance we offer.

Ballet

Dance With Me
Dancers: Comfortable clothing and pink or black ballet shoes
Care Takers: Anything comfy with socks or dance shoes

Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet

Pink leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes

Ballet 1, 2, 3 and Intermediate Ballet 1

Black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes

Intermediate Ballet 2 and 3

Any color leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes

Jazz

Jazz 1, 2, 3 and Intermediate Jazz 1

Black leotard, skin tone tights and skin tone jazz shoes

Intermediate Jazz 2 and 3

Any color leotard, skin tone tights and skin tone jazz shoes

*Dancers may add an optional black skirt, dance shorts or form fitting leggings for any jazz class.

Tap

Tap 1 and 2

Black leotard, skin tone tights and black tap shoes

Intermediate Tap 1 and 2

Any color leotard, skin tone tights and black tap shoes.

Male Tap Dancers

Solid color-shirt, black pants and black tap shoes

Lyrical, Contemporary, Musical Theater

All Levels of Lyrical, Contemporary
and Musical Theater

Form-fitting dance attire and skin tone jazz shoes, half soles or dance paws.

Male Dancers

Solid color t-shirt, black pants and black jazz shoes

Hip Hop

All Levels of Hip Hop and All Dancers

Comfortable shirt, pants or leggings and clean black tennis shoes. Please make sure your tennis shoes are only used for class and are not street shoes.

Acro

All Levels of Acro and All Dancers

Any colored leotard with shorts, pants or leggings and skin tone jazz shoes or bare feet during class. Please note that jazz skin tone shoes will be required for the recital performance.
